Store and Forward (Alternate Access)
Servicing Membership Even if the Host System is Down
Store and Forward gives credit unions the ability to access member account information and perform transactions on a PC when the host system is unavailable or unnecessary.
How does Store and Forward draw from the system if it is unavailable?
The Store and Forward software has a transaction screen that is very similar to GALAXY's transaction screen. Using the updated trial balance that is down-loaded on a daily basis, transactions are processed on the PC using current account balances. When the host becomes available, the "transaction file" is uploaded to the host and posted as a batch job.
What types of transactions can be completed in Store and Forward mode?
- Download full trial balance to PC
- Download partial trial balance daily
- Automatically post to GALAXY through an upload command
- Transactions that can be performed are:
- Check Received
- Share Deposit
- Share Withdrawal
- Cash Received
- Loan Payment
- Transaction screens similar to GALAXY screens
- Will run on any PC or PC Network, including a laptop for easy portability
An example of the Store and Forward process is demonstrated in the following example:
